Heart Horse Wisdom to Live By

Have you ever wished you could wipe the slate of the current “you” clean, and explore who you really are? Unbound from the roles we’ve been given, trained to do, or taken on because we just didn’t know what road to take, we can discover the true essence each of us was born with.

Maybe you’re thinking “I don’t have time;” “It’s too late!”; “My family will disapprove!”; “I have no idea who I am!” Try this: carve out a still 10 minutes with a clear boundary you make for yourself, whether under a tree or in the tub with the bathroom door locked.

Before you go into that quiet space, consider letting all the chatter in your brain go on autopilot in the background: you know, stuff like “I know my boss is texting” or “I should be grocery shopping” or “the puppy is chewing through an electric cord!”

Now, close your eyes, breathe into your heart, and feel that space open. Allow your heart to wonder, if you could be anywhere and do anything in the world right this second, what does that look like? Smell like? Feel like in your body? Write down or draw your heart’s message. If nothing comes, let that be OK too.

Ready for the next step? Imagine this: you’re in a secluded desert canyon, supported and reflected by a horse herd (it’s a real place – I live here). As you move in nature and listen to your body’s wordless, timeless wisdom, you free yourself and remember who you are. The horses already know.

Consider this from Marianne Williamson: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” What if you lived with full permission to shine? Will you give yourself that courageous freedom and release your gifts to the world?
